Numeracy Task time

3rd Oct 2017

This week during Numeracy task time the boys and girls have been working extremely hard.

The Green Frogs have shown great team work skills. Each group had two dice. We rolled the dice and created sums depending on what numbers we landed on. We then extended to throwing three numbers and adding those together. Who can think of 3 numbers which add together to make 10?

Following on from our shape hunt last week the Yellow Tigers have been discovering the properties of 2D shapes. We discussed corners, curved and straight edges. Which shape had a curved edge?

The Yellow Tigers worked on our number stories. We counted pumpkins to make the story of 6, diggers to make the story of 7 and footballs to make the story of 8. See how many ways you can make 6 using conkers.

The Orange Fish used hammers and nails to make a shape picture. We then used our squashy boxes to ask each other questions about 2D shapes. You could make your very own shape squashy box at home.
