Year 7 Montague Assembly Black History Month - Video "Please Don't Worry About a Thing"
On 13th October, we did our assembly on Black History Month. We performed in front of the P6 and P7 classes as well as our parents, so we were all a little nervous.
Our assembly was about the history of black people such as slavery, the civil rights movement and apartheid. We talked about lots of famous people: Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and many many more. We sang a song by Bob Marley called ‘Three Little Birds’ and some of us recited a poem by Benjamin Zephaniah. We hope that people listened to our message that God wants us to treat everyone equally.
We really enjoyed our assembly and think we did a great job!
