On the 30th of April, me, Ben, Ronan and Garrett went to Wellington College to participate in the K’nex Challenge. When we arrived, we were greeted by a man called David. He started to explain things about the competition. Soon all the rest of the schools came. There were about 20 people in teams of two participating. Some people did not arrive by the 12:30 deadline so we started without them. The teachers went out of the room and David clarified what we had to do. We were to design and make what we would think 2 aliens would look like and what they would bring with them to earth. We had 30 minutes to design, 40 minutes to build and some time at the end for the teachers to see our aliens. We were given an A3 sheet to draw and plan our design. We had three designs but decided on the best two designs and built them. We also had to answer some questions about our aliens and why and what they brought with them. Our first design looked like a large beetle with saws on its back and the other one was an alien with saws for hands. We had an enjoyable time there and hope we get into the next round.
