Year 5 Fee First Holy Communion
Today Year 5 Fee celebrated their First Holy Communion. It was a very special day. The sun shone and the girls and boys and their families felt very blessed to be making their communion with just their class.
During the homily Fr O'Donnell told the children that in the gospel Jesus said his father looks after tiny little birds especially the sparrows. If God looks after little birds then Fr. O Donnell reminds us God will look after us too as we are worth hundreds of sparrows. Fr. O'Donnell asked the communicants how their parents show them love. One of the pupils said they gave us presents. Fr. O'Donnell said that today God shows us he loves us by giving us a present just as our parents give us presents. Today God gives Year 5 Fee a present- the Body of Christ. This is simply God telling us he loves us.
We, the staff, would like to thank the boys and girls and the mums and dads for a wonderful morning. We would like to thank Fr. O'Donnell for his lovely words, Mr Fee for preparing the pupils, Mrs Toal for the music, the PTA for the sweets and Mrs Grainne O'Neill for designing the party bags. The children loved them.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
