Year 3 Cowan Music, Weather and Sound Story
Weather Sound Story
On February Mrs Toal took our class for a music lesson.
First we sat in a circle and Mrs Toal showed us some new instruments that were really good for making ‘weather noises’.
Then we looked at a picture that showed a weather story. It was a bit funny because it had lots of ‘suns’ in the picture. She reminded us that we start on the left hand side for our ‘Sound Story’.
Next we listened to the instruments and decided which instrument would be best suited to the different types of weather. We made thunder noises using loud drums and sunshine using a glockenspiel.
After that Mrs Toal gave out the instruments and we practised playing our instruments to the sound story. We decided when we should be playing our instruments and how loudly we should play them too.
Finally Mrs Cowan took a video of our sound story. Mrs Toal was the conductor and she pointed to the part of the story to play.
We felt very proud of ourselves and took a bow at the end! We watched the video after and were very impressed at how real the weather noises were!
