World Book Day Classroom Door Competition
World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day this year the children were set a challenge to create a door design featuring their favourite book. The children were all very enthusiastic and worked hard to create colourful and exciting designs. On Thursday 3rd March, our special judge went on a walk around the school to score the doors. It was a very difficult decision but, in the end, the two winning doors that were chosen were P1 Mrs Wynne with a very impressive ‘Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and P5 Mr McCloskey with ‘The Big Friendly Giant’. Well done to all classes, all classroom doors looked wonderful. Thank you to the PTA who kindly funded small Easter eggs for every child in the winning classes of the 'Decorate a Door' competition and Tesco who donated a £25 voucher.
Pupils and staff alike also made a splendid effort with their costumes for World Book Day. The children had great fun dressing up as their favourite characters. We had fairy tale characters, pirates, Harry Potters, Gruffalos, Mary Poppinses, characters from books by David Walliams, Roald Dahl and many, many more! Keep an eye out for the South Belfast News edition on Friday 11th March to see their fantastic efforts.
