Last week P2 Campbell were visited by two doctors, but don’t worry it’s not because we were all sick! We are learning about people who help us and so Roisa and Sienna’s Daddy, and Noah’s Mummy very kindly came to tell us all about their jobs!
Firstly, Dr Lewis came to visit us and told us all about his job as a GP. He showed us his bag that was filled with very important things used to help people. He showed us things that doctors use to check our temperature, blood pressure, heart beat, and even how much sugar is in our blood! We all got to have a go at using a stethoscope, which was really cool because we could hear everyone’s heart beat! We learnt so much from Dr Lewis!
Later in the week Dr Niblock visited us to talk about her job. She told us how she looks after babies in their mummy’s tummy, she even brought in pictures of some of the babies she looks after! The pictures were taken by something called an ultra sound. We loved looking at all of the babies Dr Niblock is taking care of, one baby was even giving us a thumbs up! Lara also got to put on a body apron and Dr Niblock explained what all the different parts of our body do, but I think she was very impressed with how much we already knew! Finally, Dr Niblock showed us some really cool equipment, some of which we remembered from when Dr Lewis visited. But before we could use anything, Dr Niblock brought in a machine to show us what germs were on our hands…we made sure to give them a good wash after that!!
