Third World Group Visits St. Brides
On Wednesday some representatives from St. Brigid’s Parish Third World Group came for a special assembly in school for Year 4 & 5 pupils.
Mrs Rosalie Flanagan spoke to us about children living in the Third World. Some of our pupils did not know what the Third World was!
We watched a very informative PowerPoint and DVD about Uganda and in particular about St. Dominic’s School in Kampala. It made us realise how lucky we are in St. Bride’s P.S.
Reverend Jim Campbell spoke to us about well building in Malawi. He told us that the St. Brigid’s Third World Group had raised money to build a well in Nkhota.
Together with the Third World Group, it is hoped that we the pupils of St. Bride’s, with the help of our parents and friends, will come up with interesting & fun fund raising ideas to help raise money for this very worthy cause.
We would like to thank the Third World Group for taking the time to visit the school.
