St. Bride's Girls' Gaelic Team Convincing Win!
St. Bride’s Girls’ Gaelic team played against St. Peter’s in the first round of the Truly Fare League on Thursday 29th September at Dunville Park. The girls got off to a brilliant start with some excellent supportive play from the backs including Hannah Higgins and Maria Smyth. Our strong midfielders, Aileen McDonnell and Hannah Donaghy, were able to catch high balls and get the ball into the forwards who confidently scored both goals and points. An impressive Eimear Quinn in the full forward line made her mark scoring several points. At half time, the team were in a very good position.
The second half brought brilliant football from Sophie Kilpatrick, Cliodhna Logan and Niamh O’Hagan who all showed their scoring and defensive skills. Molly O’Shea had a great first half in goals and came out in the second half to highlight her defensive skills. A resounding win for St. Bride’s in the end but good sportsmanship shown throughout.
A special mention should go to St. Bride’s PTA who have very kindly funded a NEW set of jerseys for the girls to wear this year. It’s fair to say the splash of pink on the jerseys definitely makes it feel like girls…GIRLS …‘RULE THE WORLD’!
