Today we welcomed Martin Fogarty to a special assembly for Years 4-7.
Martin was here to share his love of Hurling with the pupils.
This afternoon he hosted a special coaching session with our after schools hurling and camogie teams.
It was an amazing experience for all the pupils , coaches and staff. Martin’s enthusiasm was infectious. He shared many skills with the pupils and encouraged them to practise every single day at least three times a day. He told them about how Kilkenny people walked around all day with hurls in their hands even carrying them to mass!
A big thank you to Martin for coming and inspiring us in St. Bride’s . There was not a child or adult in the yard who was not inspired. Thank you for taking time to sign jerseys and chat to the pupils at the end of the coaching session. It is an experience they will never forget.
Thank you also to St. Brigid’s club for facilitating this visit. Special thanks to Muiris Mac Carthaigh who invited Martin and thought to include the school as well as the club.
