Sam Maguire Visits St. Bride's Primary School
On Friday the school welcomed for the third time the Sam Maguire Cup! What an honour.
Who would have known there were so many Tyrone families in St. Bride’s and so many connections to the Tyrone 2021 team?
Sam received a great reception from the school Gaelic teams. He was welcomed by a guard of honour and accompanied to the front of the stage by Padraig’s young cousins the proud Murphy family and members of the Logan family whose uncle Feargal is the team manager.
Staff and pupils queued for photographs. In the hall there was a question and answer session with the Tyrone Captain Padraig Hampsey. The school Gaelic teams were thrilled to sit in on that. It was wonderful to see the children in their Tyrone jerseys. There were many other jerseys on display St. Brigid’s , ARMAGH, Cúl camp and one Mayo supporter!
We would like to thank Mr Peter Murphy for arranging the visit and Padraig for taking the time out of his busy schedule. He has inspired the next generation of gaels in St. Bride’s Primary School.
Apologies to those who did not see the cup. There are many more photographs to follow.
