When we started learning how to do take away sums we did lots of our work in the Nursery Playground. Mrs McNamee would get us in lots of little groups and count how many was in our group and then take some children away.
One time everyone wearing shorts was taken away, another time it was anyone with a pony tail that was taken away. Then we had to count how many were left.
Today at Task Time we were pretending our cubes were little robots in a rocket on one page and spots on a frog on the next.
We are very good at using our imaginations and out subtraction sums!
