P1 Wynne release their butterflies
Today we realised our butterflies. We have watched them transform over the last number of weeks. When they first arrived into our classroom they were tiny caterpillars. They got bigger and longer and fatter. After 3 weeks they had transformed into a chrysalis and were very still for 3 weeks. They didn't move or make a sound. When we came into school on Tuesday, we had 3 brand new butterflies!! Amazing! They didn't move for a while because they had to let the ink in their wings dry. Today we took them outside into the fresh air and let them go free. They fluttered their wings and were practising flying. They flew up and landed on the ground a few times before they fluttered away. What a magical thing to watch!!
