To celebrate Maths week (15th October), we had fabulous P6 visitors come into our classroom during Numeracy task-time. It was great fun. They helped us with all of our different tasks and it was great to have the P6 children to play numeracy games with us too. They helped us create patterns practically and with recording our 2 and 3 colour patterns for the first time. We were also making our own number line using our magnetic numbers which they were able to keep us right with. We were comparing unequal sets and showing the P6 children which set had more and which set had less. Some sets had the same number of items – they were equal. We sorted using a Carroll Diagram and enjoyed playing Number Lotto and the Fishing Number game, where we can recognise some numbers.
We were so lucky to have the P6 children to come and help us during task-time and hope they come back to visit again soon!!
