We have conducted a plant experiment in Primary 1. We are looking at what we think plants need to survive. We think they need water, soil and light. We have planted 4 bulbs. We first had to decide what we needed to complete our experiment. We needed; 4 pots, soil, spade, water and 4 bulbs. Mrs Merron asked some children to come help plant the seeds. We followed steps to make sure we got it right, this is called a procedure. Each bulb will get different things. Pot one will get light, soil and water. Pot 2 will get light and water but no soil. Pot 3 will get soil and water but no light and Pot 4 will get soil and light but no water.
Mrs Merron asked everyone to think about what they think may happen to each pot, she has recorded it for us so we can look back and see if our predictions were correct. It is exciting watching the bulbs grow but they do take time so we have to be patient.
