The Primary 1 children went to Armagh Planetarium on a school trip. We first got on a big bus and drove down to Armagh. When we arrived we were super excited. We had our breaks and then headed into the big cinema room. It was amazing it had a big screen on the roof which was shaped like a dome. We watched a video about the stars and met Astronaut George. Astronaut George investigated all the planets and we learnt lots about our solar system. We then took a trip to the moon and imagined what it would be like to be a real astronaut. Finally we went on a super fast roller coaster, it was lots of fun! Then we went to sit on the moon and look at some of the exhibits. We heard all about astronauts from Heather, she told us how they brushed their teeth, how they washed and even how they went to the toilet and what happened to the things in the toilet!!! After that we had our lunch and got ready to make some rockets, yes rockets! We worked in teams to build our rockets and decorated them and stuck them together. After that we needed to add some fuel, the fuel was called H2O. We then went to blast them off......3...2...1...BLAST OFF!!!!! It was amazing to watch them fly through the sky. Mrs Merron loved watching our faces when we saw the rockets fly through the air.
