On VERY wet day we had our P3 trip to Cultra! We were really excited, and we didn’t even mind the rain!
First, we all travelled on the bus with our friends and we met the parents who were kind enough to come with us and keep us safe.
We had our snack before heading off in smaller groups to explore the old buildings.
We saw terraced houses, cottages and detached housed as well as some shops in the town.
We saw old houses with fires and mangles. We saw the way people in the olden days had to cook, wash and even make their own butter!
We got to feel and smell the turf that most people burned on the fire to heat their homes, heat the water for washing and to cook on.
We noticed that the ceilings were very low, and we chatted about all the different materials that were used to build each house.
After lunch some of us got to visit the hardware store, the bank and bank managers house and some boys and girls got to visit the doctors.
