Coffee Morning for the Parents of Newcomer Pupils.
On the 26th of October Mrs Quinn and Miss Meehan, the teacher responsible for newcomer pupils, hosted a wonderful coffee morning for the parents of newcomer pupils. It was great to see such a wonderful turn out.
Over tea and biscuits, Jenny Turkington of the PTA and Jane Camara of the Inclusion and Diversity Service also addressed the parents. Jenny spoke about the PTA and encouraged parents to join or become helpers at the many functions.
Miss Meehan spoke to the parents about events in the school diary especially for Year 1 pupils. She told parents about the curriculum newssheets which will inform parents about the work the children will be doing in the next 6 weeks. She showed the parents her classroom, the learning resources and she explained about the lending library which is open every Thursday morning.
We would like to thank all the parents for joining us for the coffee morning and we hope they found it useful.
We would also like to thank Mr Zheng who voluntarily acted as a Mandarin interpreter, Jenny Turkington from the PTA and Jane Camara from the Inclusion and Diversity Service.
