Modernising St. Bride’s Primary School !
St Bride’s Primary School is currently working on proposals to modernise and extend the school.
The proposals would see some of the existing buildings on Derryvolgie Avenue demolished and a new extension built. A new single-storey building also would be built on the Windsor Avenue site, which would accommodate eight classrooms and ancillary support accommodation.
In addition, we’re proposing to create a new one-way system and set-down area at Windsor Avenue, which would become the main pupil entrance. This has been carefully designed to improve the flow of traffic around our school at peak times. There would also be substantial landscaping improvements, with new lawns, trees and children’s play areas.
Our pupils’ education is obviously the most important consideration in this process and we have been working closely with our project team to come up with a plan to minimise and mitigate any disruption. We have a full plan in place which would see construction take place following a phased approach, ensuring the maximum possible separation between our pupils and any construction.
We’re currently in the pre-application community consultation period, ahead of submitting a planning application and we’d welcome any feedback you had on our proposals. We’ve set up a website, where you can find out more about what’s being proposed, contact a member of our planning team via our live chat function (9am – 5pm Monday to Friday) and have your say via our online feedback form – please visit www.stbridesconsultation.co.uk
