On the last day we had a slight lie in which was most welcome. We departed for Verona at 11am. The journey down the windy roads on the mountain was stomach churning but the views were spectacular.
When we arrived in Verona the sun was shining. It was the perfect day weather-wise. We headed straight to McDonald’s for a meal that was not pasta! Then we divided into our class groups and went on a tour of Verona taking in some of the wonderful sights such as the Arena De Verona and Romeo and Juliette’s Balcony. We all enjoyed a delicious “gelato” and spent the remainder of our euro in the local markets. It was a perfect end to a perfect week.
On the plane home, the stewards commented on the exemplary behaviour of the pupils. The children were a credit to the school. A big thank you to Miss Rogers for her wonderful organisation and to the teachers, parents and pupils for making the trip so memorable.
