This afternoon was a special day in our parish. Two of the Year 7 classes were confirmed.
It was a significant day as it was a first for Fr. O’ Donnell and Fr. Dominic. Instead of the Bishop confirming the children, the honour fell to them.
The ceremony was much more intimate. Father O’ Donnell’s sermon was very meaningful. He blessed the parents and wished them well in their challenging but privileged role of parenthood.
He reminded the girls and boys that they were receiving a gift from God, a gift they can’t see, an amazing gift and that they should be grateful.
Mrs Quinn and the class teachers were very proud of all the children.
Special thanks to Fr O’Donnell and Fr Dominic for a wonderful ceremony and to Mrs Toal who played the organ. This greatly enhanced the ceremony. Thank you to the flower arrangers in the church. The arrangements were simply magnificent. Thank you to the PTA for the party bags- what a treat ! Finally thank you to our wonderful teachers Mrs Martilla and Miss Maguire who prepared the children so well.
It was a perfect day and was lovely to be back in our wonderful parish church.
