Celebrating Chinese New Year
Today St. Bride’s celebrated Chinese New Year – the year of the Rooster - by having an assembly for P1’s, P2’s and P3’s. Children from P4, P5 and P6 performed a drama with puppets of the story of how each year is named after a different animal. We discussed how the Chinese New Year is celebrated and Xiofan, James and Andy produced a Powerpoint presentation. Some wonderful P2’s impressed us all by counting to 20 in Mandarin! The assembly also included a celebration of Chinese culture through poetry and song in Mandarin. The hall was decorated with lanterns and pictures made by P3 Lundy. Well done to everyone and Happy New Year!
