A Wonderful Evening for the Parish at The Service of Light
Pupils from St. Bride’s Primary School joined children from Glenveigh, Stranmillis , and the Ashleigh Group for The Service of Light in preparation for their Confirmation.
Fr. O’Donnell spoke to the parents and the children , thanking the parents for handing on the faith to their children and reminding the children that they are taking responsibility for their faith now. He encouraged them to keep their “light” shining. He thanked the teachers for their part in preparing the children.
The music was lovely thanks to the Year 6 choir and Mrs Toal. It was great to see so many children taking an active part in the mass - reading, singing, playing an instrument or taking part in the offertory procession. What a talented lot !
It was also wonderful to see two of our past pupils back serving on the altar. It all helped to make it a very happy, parish occasion.
Thank you very much to Fr. O’Donnell for making the ceremony so meaningful and to Brett Lockhart who served at the mass.
