Year 6 Doran Art With Mrs Harrigan
Last week our class looked at the work of David Hockney with Mrs Harrigan. We then drew abstract pictures with pastels based on David Hockney’s style.
This week we painted an abstract. This time it was less like David’s and more like our own original work.
We learnt that we should not always try to copy other artist’s work but that if we use our own imaginations it can work out even better.
We also learnt that David was born in 1937 and that he is still alive. He is English but lived for a while in California. He painted a lot of buildings and planes and cars. We found it very inspiring looking at his work.
We love when Mrs Harrigan comes to our class. Have a look at our gallery.
