Year 5 McAuley Water Experiments
Mr McAuley’s class took advantage of the beautiful warm weather to go out to the playground and complete a scientific experiment. As our WAU topic is ‘Liquid Gold’ we focussed on making scientific predictions based on 3 different puddles; one with a small volume of water, another with a large volume of water and the third puddle consisting of a sugar and water solution. We recorded our predictions and then returned two hours later to record the results. We had found that the small and large puddle of water had evaporated due to the heat of the sun however; the sugar and water solution left a sticky residue.
