When looking at the topic ‘Sound’ the primary fives experimented with sound travelling through water. These photos show the children experimenting with blowing bubbles through a straw and using a stethoscope to listen to the sound this makes under water. The children then looked at how whales and dolphins communicate underwater and learned that sound can travel for hundreds of miles, much further than in air.
