Year 2 McDermott Visit W5
Primary 2 McDermott went to W5 on Wednesday 6th April. The children went to learn about Materials. The scientist Matt got the children to make bridges from different materials to see which were the strongest to support the Three Little Pigs. The children discovered that metal and wood were the strongest materials for the bridges. They then had to make boats from paper, wood, plastic and pasticine. The boats were tested to see if they would float or sink. The children found that the wood and plastic boats were the best for floating and if the plasticine was made into a cup shape it could float as the air was trapped above and enabled it to float. The children had a great day.
