Today in St. Bride's we celebrated "World Poetry Day". Years 1-3 gathered in the assembly hall.
It was an exciting time for Year 1 pupils as it was their first time at an assembly.
First Mrs O'Prey's class sang a song. Next we all clapped out the syllables in the teachers' names.
Then the Year 1 pupils performed for the first time - a wonderful poem called Twinkle Twinkle.
The teachers then read out some of their favourite poems.
Finally together with Mrs O'Prey we wrote a shared poem about a hat, a bat and the hall!
It was great fun.
