St. Bride's Excel in Cross Country
On Thursday 5th March, 20 of our P7 pupils ran in the Belfast City Council’s South Belfast, Primary Schools Cross County Heat at Boucher Road Playing fields. The girls’ race set off first and Therese from P7D stormed home in first place. A fabulous race by Therese displaying sheer grit and determination! She was closely followed by Victoria P7G in 4th, Eva P7G in 7th and Grace P7Mc G in 18th place. Well done to Eva & Freya P7K, Anna & Emily P7Mc G and Connie P7D who all finished in respectable places to give the girls team 2nd place overall!! The boys’ race got off to a very quick start. Lorcan from P7K was our first boy home, striding in, in a fabulous 3rd place. Hot on his heels were Liam P7K in 5th, Niall P7Mc G in 6th, Christopher P7G in 7th and Aodhan P7G in 9th. Well done to Fiontan, Joseph & Brendan P7D, Donal & Thomas P7G and Garrett P7 Mc G who all finished in the top 25!!! This fantastic display gave the boys a well- deserved 1st place!! Both teams now go forward to the Belfast Final on Tuesday 24th March. We wish them all the very best!!
