Sorting shapes
This week we have been sorting shapes using tree diagrams. We have been looking at the properties of 2D shapes. We have looked at triangles, squares, rectangles and circles. We know triangles have 3 sides and 3 corners (pointy bits). We know circles have 1 side and no corners. Squares and rectangles have 4 sides and 4 corners. We can tell squares and rectangles apart because rectangles have 2 short sides and 2 longer sides while the square has all the sides the same length.
We also made shape pictures, we made shape knights and shape princesses. We also made our own shape pictures (flowers, fire engines, rockets etc.).
You could go on a shape hunt in your house and see if you can find any shapes?
