Robbie Burns at the Linen Hall Library
On Thursday the 22nd January P7K and the lovely Miss Joyce went to the Linen Hall Library to learn about Robert Burns, the famous Scottish Baird. We started by learning some of the Ulster-Scots language and we also sang songs. Then we learnt some interesting facts about his history, and heard some of his poems. Next, we saw the famous haggis and a man dressed up as Robert Burns, performed the famous poem to a haggis! It was really interesting to hear. After that, we got to actually taste the haggis and it tasted a lot better than it looked, however, some of us felt a little bit sick when we found out what it was made of! A bagpiper came out next and he played us some songs on the pipes and some of us even got to play the bagpipes. That was fun. Before we left, we all joined hands and sang Robert Burn’s famous song, ‘Auld Lang Syne’. Finally we left and went back to school. It was a really great day!
