P7 Montague Philosophy
Over 8 weeks two students called Connaire and Maurice came in from the Philosophy department in Queens to teach us Philosophy for Children. We discussed interesting issues that don’t have a right answer.
At the start of the lessons we would play thinking games to get our minds working. We did things like pretending to be philosophers, starting off with a subject and see what it turns out like and agree and disagree games.
Over the eight weeks we discussed topics such as what is heaven? Animal cruelty, global warming and what is good and bad. We were divided into groups to think of open questions and then we voted as a class on which question to answer. You had to put your mind to it and think deeply.
We really enjoyed having to think deeper about the subject and having no right or wrong answer. It is a very interesting subject!
