P6 Phetpraphai Textile Art
Today our class had our first weaving lesson with Mrs Harrigan. We learned how to weave on a loom. First we chose a colour of wool and pulled it through one of the slits in the cardboard and secured it with masking tape. Then we repeated it with all the slits. Next we took another piece of wool and put it through the eye of the needle. After we put the needle to our nose and we extended our arm out to measure how much thread we needed. Then we cut the thread with scissors that were special for cutting thread, we used the wool to weave over and under the thread which we already made. We all really enjoyed the weaving and are looking forward to our next lesson!
