P6 Phetpraphai Assembly on Kindness

25th Jan 2018

Our assembly had lots of parts to play including role plays, songs, prayers and much, much more! We were both narrators and had lots of fun practising with each other. The Kindness Spotters were an important part of our assembly as at lunch and break they had to give out stickers to anyone they could spot being kind. They found out that there were lots of acts of kindness in just one playground!

In the week leading up to our assembly we had a daily kindness challenge to complete. On Monday we had to write nice compliments about everyone in our class. We had to think about everyone’s personality, character and talents. Some people were more difficult than others as we usually don’t play with everyone. Our second challenge was a lot of fun! We got to go to two P1 classes to read them stories. The classes we visited were Mrs Merron’s and Mrs McNamee’s class. Our third challenge was to write a thank you card to one person in the school who has helped us. Mostly we don’t see the people who help us such as the cleaners and caretakers of the school. We all really made their day! Our fourth challenge was to bring in a couple of items for the South Belfast foodbank. Mrs Phetpraphai went to the foodbank and gave in all of our collections. Altogether we collected 48 items. Our fifth and final challenge lasted all week. On Monday we each picked a name out of a tin and whoever we got we would be their kindness angel.

Our assembly was a great success and a thriller for the audience. We are sure that our assembly has been the best yet! Our assembly was very enjoyable and great fun. Remember #be kind!
