P1 Mrs McNamee Syllable Circles
We have been breaking lots of words into syllables in Primary One and touching our head-shoulders-knees-toes as we say the word. This week we had to identify the syllables of jungle animals as we were reading a story called “Animal Boogie”.
Peter was able to identify 3 syllables in gorilla (gor/i/lla) and Aisha found 2 syllables in giraffe (gir/affe). Tia, Emily and Roan all identified 2 syllables in zebra (zeb/ra). Joseph, Sunday and Alex were very good at touching their heads-shoulders-knees and toes before colouring the syllables.
Maybe you could count the syllables for the characters in your bedtime book?
