P1 Merron - Nanny visit from Mount Stewart
This morning the Nanny from Mount Stewart came to visit our classroom. Nanny Thompson looked after the children in Mount Stewart, a bit like a babysitter. She brought in the toys they played with a long time ago.
It was great fun hearing all about the youngest child she looked after, her name was Mary. She had a pet goat. Mary played with lots of toys, most of them were made from wood or metal. She had a lovely porcelain doll that we got to see and a teddy bear stuffed with saw dust (it wasn't as soft as our teddy bears). The teddy bear had hardly any fur on it because it was so old. We saw a push penguin toy and a dressing up toy made of cardboard. We even did some magic and made a coin disappear. We got to see a Jack and the box and watch it pop (it surprised some of us).
We got to play with lots of the toys after at our tables, it was lots of fun.
