We have been reading lots of information about butterflies and caterpillars. We have been looking at non-fiction and fiction books.
Today we compared a fiction book 'The Hungry Caterpillar' with a non-fiction book 'A butterfly is born'. We discussed what made the books similar (same) and what made the books different.
We then completed our own lifecycle of a butterfly. We noticed that the lifecycle keeps going round. We discussed different animals that might have a lifecycle too and someone even mentioned the water cycle!
We will hopefully be getting real caterpillars into our classroom soon so we can watch them grow and change.
