P1 McNamee Reading Groups
We have started reading in our groups in class.
We start by showing Mrs McNamee the spine of our book, the front cover and the back cover. Then we start our reading by pointing at the first word of our title. We have to lift our finger and point to each word as we say it. We turn to the first page and tell Mrs McNamee an ‘interesting’ sentence about our book! We have to make sure we always keep our sentences interesting because if we don’t Mrs McNamee says she might fall asleep!
When we were reading ‘The Swing ball’ we were trying to make our sentences nice and long by using the word AND in each of our sentences. We are getting better at this each week!
At home when you are reading make sure your adult doesn’t fall asleep either!
