Our Eco Assembly
On Thursday 28th January 2016 our class performed our Eco Assembly. Everyone was very excited. As well as the children,Mrs McMahon was very excited too (Although a little nervous because she was playing guitar).
First we collected up all of our props and brought them over to the hall. We practised for most of the morning .We were so busy we had to have our break in the hall. We were playing the parts of pupil one and pupil four.
Soon enough the assembly had started. Ted and Emma had the main parts - they are our class School Eco-Committee members.
In the beginning we retold the story of God creating the earth. We had narrators to tell the story of God. We talked about how God created earth and all that is in it including animals, plants, the sea, oceans, mountains and much more. The people in our class pretended they were fish, animals and birds.
Next we started our play. Eva was the narrator. After Eva had said her first line Pupil 1 (Hannah) walked on stage and dropped a crisp packet. The Eco Committee rushed on and Hannah got a good telling off. Then the Eco committee (Ted and Emma) told everybody that it is better to put your litter in the bin. After that Amy and Ella H were saying about the blank space in the playground. The Eco Committee came on and they made an eco-garden. Grainne was a flower and she sprang up at the end of the scene. Next, Rory came on. He was having lunch but Finan came and interrupted him. Rory was about to waste food but as always the Eco Committee saved the day.
At the end we said a poem with 5 parts in it. It was all about how to reduce, reuse and recycle. It was a huge success and most importantly we learnt a lot about how to be environmental friendly.
