Girls Gaelic League
Girls Gaelic ‘Truly Fare’ League
Our P.6 and P.7 girls travelled to Gaelscoil na bhFál to play in the ‘Truly Fare’ league. The first game was against Holy Child. With a strong panel we were able to score two fine points from distance. Laura Agnew and Cara Bradley took their opportunities well after some terrific supportive play. In the second half, Holy Child regained a point but it was Cara Bradley’s free taking that finished the game 0-1 to 0-3 in our favour.
Next up came the Gaelscoil nab hFál. In the first half, the opposition went 2 points up and then drove home a goal. We were to score 2 points unanswered which left it 1 – 2 to 0-2 to the Gaelscoil at half time. In the second half, Caoimhe McDonnell was to be the critical player, linking ball from the back to the forward line. Clever play from our back line and midfielders allowed us to get the ball to the forwards. In particular, Cara Bradley found space and smashed home two goals. In the end, another goal and 3 points for the Gaelscoil and 3 well taken points from our girls left us behind by two. It was a terrific game and it was clear to see everyone enjoyed it. A big thank you goes to the mums who drove the girls to the game
